The Geometric Pygmy Hawkfish is a small, vibrant saltwater fish known for its striking appearance. It has a red-orange body with a geometric pattern of white lines and spots, and a dark spot at the base of its tail. This species is popular among aquarists for its hardiness and unique look.
Reef Safe
Yes. However, they may eat small shrimp and other small invertebrates.
Environment
Geometric Pygmy Hawkfish prefer a tank with plenty of live rock for hiding and hunting. They do not require a sandy substrate as they spend most of their time perched on rocks or corals.
Behavior
This species is known to be quite active, often seen darting around the tank. They are territorial and may become aggressive towards tank mates if the environment is too cramped. It is best to keep only one per tank unless the aquarium is large and has plenty of hiding spots.
