The Golden dogface puffer is a striking color form of the dogface puffer with a rounded body, blunt snout, and expressive face. It is an intelligent, personable marine fish that often recognizes its keeper and does best in spacious aquariums with robust filtration.

Requires a stable saltwater environment with excellent filtration, low ammonia and nitrite, moderate water flow, and plenty of swimming room. Provide rockwork for exploration, secure aquascaping, and maintain typical marine conditions around 72-78 F, pH 8.1-8.4, and specific gravity 1.020-1.025.
Behavior
Generally slow-swimming and curious, often interactive with owners. Can nip at sessile invertebrates and may harass very small or passive tankmates. Produces significant waste.
