The Harlequin Basslet is a striking deepwater marine fish prized for its bold patterning, with a white to pale body covered in orange to red spots and vivid yellow fins. It is secretive but attractive in reef aquariums and does best in stable, mature systems with ample rockwork.
Reef Safe
Yes
Environment
Requires a stable saltwater aquarium with excellent water quality, moderate water flow, plenty of live rock for hiding places, and typical reef parameters. Best kept in a mature tank with temperatures around 72-78 F, pH 8.1-8.4, and salinity near 1.023-1.025.
Behavior
Usually shy at first and tends to stay near caves and rock crevices. It may become more visible over time but can prey on very small ornamental crustaceans and may be territorial toward similar fish.
