Description
A slender, small tuskfish with a whitish-grey body crossed by a broad yellow-to-blackish wedge and a conspicuous pale blotch below the rear dorsal fin, plus the protruding blue-tinged canine 'tusks' typical of the genus. It is a hardy, boisterous feeder that becomes bold once settled, will bully smaller docile tankmates, and constantly sifts and flips sand and rubble in search of prey. Give it a 100+ gallon tank with open swimming room, deep rockwork with caves, a stable sandbed and a tightly fitting lid, as tuskfish are known jumpers.
