Description
A small, elongate sand-sifting goby with a pearly white body crossed by three bold black horizontal stripes and faint pale bars on the flanks. It is peaceful and hardy, spending the day hovering just above the substrate and taking mouthfuls of sand to sift out detritus, tiny crustaceans and filamentous algae, then spitting the clean grains back out. Give it a deep fine sand bed, mature rockwork with hiding spots, and a tightly fitting lid, and feed several small meals a day of mysis, brine shrimp, calanus and other meaty frozen fare so it does not thin out.
Reef Safe
Yes
Environment
The Link's Goby prefers a tank with plenty of live rock for hiding places and a sandy substrate for burrowing. It also appreciates a good amount of water movement.
Behavior
This goby is a peaceful fish that spends most of its time in the bottom of the tank. It can be seen sifting through the substrate for food. It's not a schooling fish but it can coexist with other non-aggressive species.
