Description
The Redbar Anthias is a colorful midwater planktivore prized for its pink to orange body and distinct red markings. It is an active, schooling reef fish that does best in established marine aquariums with plenty of swimming space, stable water quality, and frequent feeding.

Environment
Requires a mature saltwater aquarium with stable parameters, strong filtration, moderate to strong water movement, high oxygenation, and ample open swimming space with rockwork for retreat. Ideal temperatures are 72-78 F, salinity 1.023-1.025, and pH 8.1-8.4.
Behavior
Active open-water swimmer that prefers to hover in the water column. Best kept singly, as a bonded pair, or in a properly managed harem in larger tanks. Can be shy at first but becomes more visible once acclimated.
