Description
The snake pipefish is a slender, elongated marine fish related to seahorses, with a tubular snout used to pick tiny prey from the water column and among rockwork. It is delicate, slow-feeding, and best suited for calm, mature aquariums with peaceful tankmates.

Yes
Environment
Requires a mature, stable saltwater aquarium with excellent water quality, gentle to moderate flow, plenty of live rock, abundant natural microfauna, and peaceful surroundings. Stable temperature, salinity, and low nutrient stress are important.
Behavior
Peaceful, slow-moving, and deliberate. It spends much of its time hovering or gliding near rockwork and substrate while hunting tiny crustaceans. It can be easily outcompeted for food by faster fish.
