Quanti galloni sono e ogni quanto dovrei fare i cambi d'acqua? Avrei apprezzato qualsiasi consiglio o idea. Passare da una 40g a questa è un bel cambiamento per me
Just bought this 120 gallon tank comes with everything. Going to use my coral blade light and use the old rock and sand. How many gallons and how often should I do water changes on it? Any recommendations or ideas would be great. Going from a 40g to this is a big change for me

Ho un sistema da 160g. Faccio circa 20g di cambio d'acqua ogni 2 settimane. Ogni quanto dipende dai tuoi nitrati e fosfati se salgono troppo e hai bisogno di abbassarli faccio una volta a settimana. Ho anche passato diversi mesi senza cambi ma poi ho notato che la vasca inizia a sembrare male.
I’ve got a 160g system. I do about 20g water change every 2 weeks. How often can depend on your nitrates and phosphate if getting way too high and need to lower them I’ll do once a week. I’ve even gone several months without a change but then I notice the tank starts to look bad.

Con la stessa sabbia e roccia è probabilmente già ciclata. Onestamente ho iniziato la mia vasca 120g e ho messo dentro pesci pagliaccio al giorno 3. Il volume d'acqua è così grande che l'ammoniaca non salirà molto. Inoltre aggiungere un po' di batteri benefici turbo start è sempre buono. Ma mi ci sono voluti circa 4 mesi per far crescere i coralli con successo. All'inizio ne ho uccisi parecchi. Assicurati solo che i tuoi parametri siano stabili e non comprare troppo in una volta!
With same sand and rock it’s probably already cycled. Honestly I started my 120g tank and put clownfish in on day 3. The water volume is so large that your ammonia won’t get that high. Also adding some turbo start beneficial bacteria is always good. Though it took me about 4 months to successfully grow coral. I killed a bunch at first. Just make sure your parameters are stable and don’t buy too much at once!

Ah scusa ho perso la parte dove stai facendo un upgrade. Sì puoi trasferire tutto nella nuova vasca senza problemi finché hai la tua roccia viva sei a posto. Nel mio caso era il mio primo acquario marino di sempre. La gente non consiglia di trasferire la sabbia perché può essere una bomba di nitrati quando muovi tutta la sporcizia intrappolata. Puliscila molto bene o compra sabbia nuova.
Oh sorry missed the part where you are upgrading. Yeah you can move everything to the new tank no worries as long as you have your live rock you are golden. In my case it was my first saltwater tank ever. People don’t recommend transferring sand as it can be a nitrate bomb when you stir up all the trapped debris. I’d either clean it really well or just buy new sand.

Io di recente ho fatto un trasferimento di vasca e ho lavato la mia sabbia con acqua del rubinetto dal tubo e poi l'ho lasciata asciugare per un paio di giorni. Ho riempito a metà 5 secchi da 5g con la sabbia e ho infilato il tubo nel secchio e lasciato uscire tutta la sporcizia. Ha preso un po' ma ha funzionato bene. Avrai bisogno di molta acqua quindi penso che il tubo va bene 🤷♂️
I recently did a tank transfer and just washed my sand with tap water from my hose and then let it dry out for a couple days. I half filled 5g buckets with sand and the stuck the hose in the bucket and let all the nastyness come out. Kinda took a while but worked well. You’ll need a lot of water so I think the hose is fine 🤷♂️

Sempre triste quando un LFS chiude. Tienici aggiornati sulla tua nuova vasca! Non riesco a immaginare di avere una vasca da 120 galloni. Non riesco a vedermi farlo a meno che non riesca ad automatizzare il cambio d'acqua.
Always sad with LFS goes out of business. Keep us updated on your new tank! Can’t imagine having 120 gallon tank. I can’t see myself do it unless I can automate water change.

Complimenti per l'upgrade! Quel salto da 40g a 120g è dolce. Amo vedere la roccia viva già dentro. Ti dà una base fantastica per la biofiltrazione e i batteri. Sarei curioso di sapere se pensi di riusare la sabbia vecchia o iniziare da zero. Quando ho allestito la mia vasca più grande ho risciacquato la sabbia alla follia per evitare picchi di nutrienti. Per i cambi d'acqua di solito mi fermo al 10-20 percento ogni settimana o due ma onestamente dipende molto dal tuo bestiame e da quanto dai da mangiare. Se per ora stai facendo principalmente pesci potresti probabilmente farcela con un po' meno ma una volta che passi ai coralli
Congrats on the upgrade! That 120g is a sweet jump from a 40g. I love seeing live rock in there already. It gives you such a good foundation for bio filtration and bacteria. I’d be curious to know if you plan to reuse the old sand or start fresh. When I set up my bigger tank I rinsed my old sand like crazy to avoid any nutrient spikes. For water changes I usually stick to 10 to 20 percent every week or two but honestly a lot depends on your livestock and how much you feed. If you’re running mostly fish for now you could probably get away with a little less but once you get into corals

Sì totalmente la sciacquerei con acqua RO prima! Aiuta a liberarsi da qualsiasi vecchia sporcizia e mantiene il tuo nuovo allestimento
Yeah I’d totally rinse it with RO water first! It helps get rid of any old gunk and keeps your new setup
