I recently acquired a baby yellow tang for my tank, but my purple tang has been exhibiting aggressive behavior towards it. It chases and bites the baby tang, prompting me to create a DIY acclimation tank. Additionally, I purchased a mirror to attach to the tank’s glass. Considering these factors, how long should I keep the baby tang separated from the purple tang?

Yo mantendría al baby yellow tang en la caja de aclimatación por lo menos una semana, a veces cerca de dos si el purple tang realmente está enfocado en él. Alimentación abundante y el espejo pueden ayudar mucho, y si el purple tang sigue atacando cuando lo sueltes, también probaría un poco de reorganizar las rocas.
I would keep the baby yellow tang in the acclimation box for at least a week, sometimes closer to two if the purple tang is really keyed in on it. Heavy feeding and the mirror can help a lot, and if the purple tang is still charging right away after release I would try a little rockwork shuffle too.

Como mínimo haría una semana, mezclar zebrasomas especialmente algo con un purple tang es extremadamente difícil después de la primera adición. Personalmente no sugeriría intentarlo en nada menor de 150g en el display
At a minimum I would do a week, mixing zebrasomas especially anything with a purple tang is extremely hard to do after the first addition. I wouldnt suggest trying it in anything less than a 150g display personally

Voy a darle una semana y ver qué pasa. Los mantendré separados por ahora. Si no mejora devolveré el yellow tang. ¡Tengo un 250 gallon en proceso!
I’m going to give it a week and see what happens. I’ll keep them separated for now. If it doesn’t get better I’ll return the yellow tang. I’ve got a 250 gallon in the works!

Acabo de hacer lo mismo con un baby purple. Solo dos días y luego puse un espejo en el lado del acuario. Solté al pequeño cuando se apagaron las luces. A la mañana siguiente todo estaba bien
I just did the same thing with a baby purple. Just two days and then put a mirror tile on the side of the tank. Ket the little guy go when the lights were out. Next morning all was good
