I recently acquired a baby yellow tang for my tank, but my purple tang has been exhibiting aggressive behavior towards it. It chases and bites the baby tang, prompting me to create a DIY acclimation tank. Additionally, I purchased a mirror to attach to the tank’s glass. Considering these factors, how long should I keep the baby tang separated from the purple tang?

Io terrei il baby yellow tang nella scatola di ambientamento per almeno una settimana, a volte anche due se il purple tang è davvero fissato. L'alimentazione abbondante e lo specchio aiutano molto, e se il purple tang continua a caricare subito dopo il rilascio proverei anche a spostare un po' le rocce.
I would keep the baby yellow tang in the acclimation box for at least a week, sometimes closer to two if the purple tang is really keyed in on it. Heavy feeding and the mirror can help a lot, and if the purple tang is still charging right away after release I would try a little rockwork shuffle too.

I’m going to give them a week and if he’s still charging the yellow in the box I’m going to give it back to the person I got it from.

Minimo una settimana, mescolare zebrasomas specialmente con un purple tang è estremamente difficile dopo la prima aggiunta. Personalmente non lo consiglierei in niente di meno di una vasca di 150g
At a minimum I would do a week, mixing zebrasomas especially anything with a purple tang is extremely hard to do after the first addition. I wouldnt suggest trying it in anything less than a 150g display personally

I’m going to give it a week and see what happens. I’ll keep them separated for now. If it doesn’t get better I’ll return the yellow tang. I’ve got a 250 gallon in the works!

I just did the same thing with a baby purple. Just two days and then put a mirror tile on the side of the tank. Ket the little guy go when the lights were out. Next morning all was good
