Dit is mijn uitdaging met mijn aquarium. Net water ververst. Ik heb al groenwieren (green hair algae) waar ik al mee vecht sinds ik mijn aquarium van 40 gallon had. Het gaat door in dit aquarium van 125 gallon. Het zit op het halve platform met die kleine zoa’s en de buis op de achterwand. Ik haal het eruit en peroxyd schoonmaak het. Maar de andere steenopbouw is gewoon te veel om eruit te halen en op dezelfde manier schoon te maken. Mijn waardes zijn: SG: 1.025 TEMP: 78 ALK: 8.9 CA: 430 MG: 1290 PH: 8.2 NO3: 4 PO4: 0.00... en mijn todlstool is al 2 weken niet open. En mijn GSP blijft niet open omdat ik de buis schoon heb gemaakt. Dus ik ga drastisch en ik doe de GFO weer terug in de sump. Ik haat om te zeggen hoeveel ik heb uitgegeven. Maar ik heb nieuwe vissen besteld om te helpen met dit alg probleem. Yellow Tang, tomini tang, one spot foxface rabbitfish, en nog meer.
Here's my challenge with my tank. Just did a water change. I've been fighting this green hair algae since I had my 40 gallon tank. It continues in this 125 gallon. The half platform with the little zoa's and the tube on the back wall. I take it out and peroxide clean it. But the other Rock work is just to much to take out and clean the same way. My parameters are: SG: 1.025 TEMP: 78 ALK: 8.9 CA: 430 MG: 1290 PH: 8.2 NO3: 4 PO4: 0.00... now my toldstool hasn't been open for 2 weeks. And my GSP won't open because I cleaned the tube. So, I'm going drastic and I'm putting the GFO back in the sump. I hate to say how much I spent. But I ordered some New fish to help with this algae. Yellow Tang, tomini tang, one spot foxface rabbitfish, and more.

Also. Have you tried shrimp? I don't know If you can because of the foxface or tang though
kijk eens naar beneficial bacteria. Dit zet je ammonia om, verdunt het. Als je een ammonia testkit hebt, zou ik je levels testen. Ik denk dat het probleem waar je mee zit “new tank syndrome” heet. Zelf heb ik het nooit gehad, maar ik herinner me dat ik maanden geleden een artikel las over jouw situatie.
consider looking into beneficial bacteria. this would convert dilute your ammonia. if u have an ammonia test kit i would test your levels. i believe the problem you’re facing is called new tank syndrome. i have never faced the problem myself but remember reading an article about your situation months back.

Ik heb al een ammoniakdetector in de bak staan. Maar hij geeft nul ammoniak aan.
I have an ammonia detector already sitting in the tank. But it reads zero ammonia.
Ik zou ook echt volledig stoppen met je witte licht cyclus. Dit is de lichtcyclus die ik draai en ik heb nooit een probleem met algen gehad. Ik heb 0 wit licht in mijn aquarium.
i would also completely get rid of ur white light cycle. this is the light cycle i run and have never had a problem with algae. i have 0 white light in my tank

Koralen zijn niet afhankelijk van wit licht. Dieper blauw is wat ze laat groeien. Ik weet niet welke lamp jij gebruikt, maar als je een “cool blue” of gewoon een lichtblauwe stand hebt, dan zit daar je wit uit. Ik plak een foto bij met de juiste kleur bij de afkortingen. Volg niet die percentages die ik ga bekijken, maar kopieer en plak de ene die ik eerder heb bijgevoegd. Je gaat zien dat je koralen binnen de volgende dag of 2 weer open gaan.
Corals are not reliant on white light. deeper blues is what causes them to grow. idk what light you use but if it has a “cool blue” or just a light blue setting that is where it will get it whites from. i’ll attach a picture that shows the matching color to the abbreviations. do not follow this percentage i’m going to look but rather copy and paste the one i attached earlier. you will begin to see your corals open back up within the next day or 2.

O wow. Er is echt een super facebookgroep die het exacte lichtspectrum geeft dat ik gebruik. Er zijn een paar opties die alleen de tijd van de dag veranderen. Ik plak een screenshot van de groep. Ik raad penny wise deadlights aan. Beter dan welke lichtsetup ik ooit heb gebruikt. Klik wat ik heb omcirkeld en ga vanaf daar. Als je vragen hebt over hoe je dat preset in je AI app laadt, help ik je graag.
oh that’s spectacular. there is they really terrific facebook group that provides the exact lighting spectrum i use. there are a couple different options that just change the time of day. i’ll attach a screenshot of the group. i suggest the penny wise deadlights. better than any light setup i have ever used. click what i have circled and go from there. if u have any questions about how to load this preset into your AI app glad to help
Ik zou aanraden om je lichttijd terug te schroeven totdat je de alg onder controle hebt. En je fosfaten moeten laag zijn maar niet 0, want dat kan dinoflagellaten veroorzaken… niets dan een nachtmerrie. Ik ben geen pro, maar dit is het beste wat ik je kan vertellen 😂
I would suggest cutting your light time back until you have the algae under control. Also, your phosphates should be low but not 0, that can cause dinoflagellates…nothing short of a nightmare. I’m not a pro but that’s the best I can tell you 😂

Hey, ik had(had) hetzelfde probleem als daarvoor met mijn 90 toen ik nog een 40 gallon had. En nu zit het weer in mijn 90. Ik heb alles geprobeerd. Ik heb zelfs al mijn stenen eruit gehaald en het toen met een tandenborstel helemaal eraf gehaald. Terug erin en in een week of 2 was alles weer terug. Ik kan niet zeggen dat het volledig heeft gewerkt, maar ik heb chemipure in mijn systeem gehad voor zo’n 2-3 dagen en ik zie een duidelijke vermindering van de GHA. Ongeveer de helft is in een paar dagen weg. Nogmaals, het heeft het niet volledig uitgeroeid, maar het lijkt bij mij te werken. Mijn nitraten waren altijd zo >1 ppm en mijn fosfaten waren rond .05. Dat is niet veel, maar de GHA was het gewoon allemaal aan het opeten. Zeker het proberen waard in mijn ogen. Nog iets: GHA en de meeste algen groeien beter onder wit licht. Ik houd mijn blues op 80-90 procent en de whites op ongeveer 15-20 procent, en dat hielp om te voorkomen dat het meer ging groeien. Ik weet niet zeker of het helpt, maar misschien helpt het om minder witjes en meer blues te doen, en ik weet zeker dat je koralen je dan dankbaar zijn, want de meeste hebben toch maar blue lights nodig.
Hey, I’ve had(having) the same issue from before my 90 when I had a 40 gallon. And it’s back in my 90 now. I tried everything. I even took all my rocks out at one point and hit it all with a toothbrush to get it off. Put it back in and in a week or 2 it’s all back. I can’t say it’s fully worked yet but I’ve had chemipure in my system for like 2-3 days now and I’ve seen a significant reduction in the GHA I have. Like half is gone in a matter of days. Again it hasn’t wiped it out yet but it seems to be doing the trick for me. My nitrates were always like >1 ppm and my phosphates were like .05 or so. Which isn’t a lot but the gha was just taking it all in. Worth a shot imo Another thing is, gha and most algae in general grow better under white lights. I keep my blues at 80-90 percent and the whites at about 15-20 percent and it seemed to help it from growing more. Again not sure if it’ll help but maybe cutting back on the whites and more blues could help, and I’m sure your corals will thank you too because most only need blue lights anyways.

Ik zat te denken om chemicaliën te gebruiken.. maar ik ben er echt bang voor. Ik probeer het eerst op een natuurlijke manier te doen. Maar als het doorgaat, dan ga ik misschien chemipure proberen. Thanks voor de tip.
I was thinking of using chemicals.. but been really afraid to. I'm trying to see if it can be done naturally first. But if it continues. I might give chemipure a try. Thanks for the tip.

Nou, alle chemipure elite is, is gepelletiseerde carbon, organische scavenger resin, en granular ferric oxide (GFO). Dus het zijn niet echt chemicaliën. Gewoon zooi om je GHA te bestrijden voor voedingsstoffen en het op een natuurlijke manier doodt. Maar het zit allemaal in één zo’n zakje dat je er in gooit voor 2-4 maanden en het werkt echt als een charme, zo heb ik gehoord.
Well all chemipure elite is, is pelletized carbon, organic scavenger resin, and granular ferric oxide (GFO). So it’s not really chemicals. Just shit to fight your GHA for nutrients and kills it naturally. But it’s all in one baggy you throw in for 2-4 months and it works like a charm so I’ve heard

Nu je GFO noemt.. dit wordt mijn plan. Ik ga 10 eetlepels GFO in een netzakje doen dat ik heb. En ik doe het in mijn sump nadat ik het heb gespoeld. Dan ga ik mijn lichtinstellingen veranderen naar alleen Blue light. En dat een paar weken proberen. Ik wil even een theorie testen.. als ik de GHA voed met wit licht. Laten we dat testen. 🤔🙂
Now that you stated GFO.. this will be my plan. I'm going to put 10 tbsp of GFO in a netted bag I have. And put it in my sump after washing it. Then I'm going to change my light settings to Blue light only. And try that for a couple of weeks. I want to test out a theory..if I'm feeding the GHA with the white lights. Let's test that out. 🤔🙂

Hoi aqua_reefer450... Ik heb ongeveer 6 blauwe en rode krabben. Ongeveer 20 cerite slakken en ongeveer 15 nerite slakken. Ik had veel nasariusslakken. Ik heb nog meer van ze in mijn sump. 2 pepermuntgarnalen. De 3de pepermuntgarnaal zit in mijn sump. 1 smaragdkrab. 1 blauwe smoking urchin... Ik denk dat is alles.. in deze video is er te veel licht. Maar ze komen 's nachts wel uit.
Hi aqua_reefer450... I have a mixer of about 6 Blue legged and red legged crabs. About 20 cerith snails about 15 nerit snails. I had a whole bunch of nuasarous snails. I have more of them in my sump. 2 peppermint shrimp. The 3rd peppermint shrimp is in my sump. 1 emerald crab. 1 blue tuxedo urchin... I think that's all of it.. in this video there's to much light. But they do come out in the dark.
Voeg meer eremitaalkrabben toe, regel is 1 per gallon. Ik heb dit gedaan en mijn problemen zijn weg.
Add more hermits, rule is 1 for every gallon. I did this and my issues are gone.

Hoi, ik wilde gewoon even zeggen dat ik 0 ervaring heb. Algen groeien door nitraten, fosfaten en licht. Als je eenmaal hebt achterhaald wat het probleem is, kan de clean-up crew die je gekozen hebt het goed doen. Je hebt lage nitraten maar hoge fosfaten. Dat kan bijdragen aan heel veel algengroei. Daarnaast te veel licht waardoor het het kan overnemen. Heb je je lampen aan voor meer dan 8 uur per dag of ziet het ook zonlicht?
Hi, I just wanted to say I have 0 experience. Algae grows from nitrates, phosphates, and light. Once you've figured out what the issue is the clean up crew you've chosen could do well. You have lowish nitrates but high phosphates. That can contribute to a lot of algae growth. In addition to too much light you can have a take over of it. Do you have your lights on for more than 8 hours a day or does it see sunlight?

Ja ik laat mijn lampen gewoon blue kleur draaien, van 9:00 tot 12:00, dan rond de middag gaan de witjes heel licht aan tot ongeveer 20:00, daarna begint het af te dimmen en het gaat uit om 21:00. Toen ik mijn 40 gallon had, draaide ik de lampen maar 5 uur. Maar mijn koralen zagen er toen niet zo goed uit. Ik ben een hoop koralen kwijtgeraakt. Er komt ook wat zonlicht in. Maar niet sterk genoeg om het aquarium te zien. Ik heb 3 peppermint shrimp en ook een stevige clean-up crew. En ik voer maar 2x per dag. Ik heb er ook nog een tuxedo urchin bij. Maar deze alg blijft gewoon komen.
Hi.. xm8si. Yes I run my lights just blue color starting at 9am til 12noon then at around noon the whites come on very lightly until about 8pm then it starts to dim down and shuts down at 9pm. When I had my 40 gallon tank I use to run the lights just 5 hours. But my corals didn't look so good. I lost a lot of corals. It gets some sunlight. But not strong enough to see the tank. I do have 3 peppermint shrimp and a robust clean up crew. And I only feed 2 times a day. I have a tuxedo urchin to. But this algae just keeps coming.

You've done something to keep the corals alive as long as you have The only thing I can think of is the imbalance between bacteria and...fish and coral discard...? Detritus? Which Isaiah was talking about
