How long you had the tank up and running?

Tank has been up and running since the start of August

Depending on the maturity I would safely say you have the lights ramped up and over feeding. Looking at the stock there’s not much in the tank to develop that much algae. Control your white and yellow lighting as algae feeds off that. More Blue and purple and lower to 20-30% power. And let it calm down

I also struggle with this type of algae and according to an ICP test it is due to high silicates, rodi filters struggle to remove silicates from the water so they manage to go through even if the tds meter reads 0, doesn’t seem to hurt anything BUT does give you more maintenance

Diatoms breakout id say. U shouldn't be dosing nothing looking at the stock. 50% water change and test for everything daily. Turn the lights down to 25% for a week aswell. If you have a uv sterilisation turn that on 24/7 aswell

I’m not dosing anything. My sister in law was watching my house when we went away for the weekend, I made little containers of pellets for her to feed however she changed my lights to all white and kept them on for 48+ hours straight, I think she was putting reef roids in the tank and somehow I can’t figure out my skimmer became unplugged so that wasnt running for four days when I left it was stable and everything was great and happy i returned to this mess and Coral’s just unhappy

Back to basics mate. Like when ur cycling a tank. Good luck brother

Thank you my friend. I did a 20g WC just yesterday I’ll do 20 more today’
