Does anyone else know if fish peck at coral that could be potentially dead? Just moved the blue ridge coral to a more front position in the tank. The part getting picked at was more shaded in the back of the tank before.

Yes some fish will eat coral. Is damsel the only one doing it. Although considered reef safe that particular damsel will peck at corals. And sometimes they just eat algae off of it or bugs

Possibly the Flame Angel could be picking at it. Angel fish have been known to pick at corals.

I believe both are picking at the blue ridge but only on the one side. Where is the coral is shedding it looks like.

I strongly recommend getting seaweed and a clip to hold it. Angels and tangs love seaweed and will distract them from eating corals. As far as the fish pecking at it, if that’s a damsel and you have a small tank, get rid of it. Damsels are the most aggressive and territorial little shits. I hate them. I had them as a beginner. Had to catch them all and return them bc they bullied other fish. Seaweed and nori!
