Just getting my new INT-100 mixed reef established. Targeting LPS low and SPS high, but also risking it with housing a (family favorite) porcupine puffer. Set up with Hydros and a daily 2g AWC.

That flow looks tricky with all those LPS gotta keep those polyps happy!
The elegance on the bottom and SPS up top is going to be difficult…
Totally, balancing flow for both is a puzzle! I usually go for gentle wavemakers low and stronger flow near the top

AWC is super impressive! How exactly does that work?
Hydros powered. It’s three kamoer pumps in my basement, one for ATO, one to drain, and one to fill. Four times a day the drain runs for 5 minutes (removing a little less than half a gallon), and then the fill pump runs to get it back to the level where the ATO keeps it. In the basement there are two 55G drums as a mixing station, one RODI water and the other salt. My ATO is right from the RODI barrel. Hydros makes this work really well. https://www.coralvuehydros.com/product-support/hydros-control/add-automatic-water-changer-awc/ Has worked great so far.
Very cool. I would love to do this some day. How do you prevent the ATO from kicking on while removing the initial half gallon of saltwater?
The Hydros AWC “recipe” disables the ATO during the water change sequence.
Gotcha! Thanks
