Sad day today. My female clown fish has come up missing. She’s not in the tank. I checked the overflow. I even checked in the sump thinking maybe somehow she got sucked down into the sump. She’s not there. Must’ve had a run in with one of my tang’s, and of course the crabs and the snails must have had a feast. I turned off the water so I could see down through the top of the tank she’s not in the tank. I feel gut shot today. That’s what’s hard about keeping these animals. We become attached and now I feel terrible. It happens so fast because I know for a fact, she was in there yesterday morning.

Sorry to hear 💔 did you notice that clown fighting with any other fish? I had a similar expience with a clown that went missing and it was getting territorial with my powder blue tang

No, that’s the part that sucks. She got along with everybody. I’m not exactly sure what happened, but I’m really not happy today. Her mate is just a little dude who doesn’t mess with anybody. I have a generally friendly tank and I know she wasn’t sick. The unknown is what hurts.

Oh no, I’m really sorry you’re dealing with that. It really does hit hard when a fish goes missing like that, especially clowns since they have such big personalities. I hope your other fish and coral are doing okay and that things start to feel a little better soon.

Found her behind the tank. My bad I slide the cover off during feeding and she must have jumped out. At least she wasn’t killed by her tank mates and left to be eaten. I’m still sick to my stomach though knowing it was my fault.
