Ocellaris has been acting weird the past two days, seems very skittish.

This is where it normally hangs out BTW.

I didn’t see anything on it and all parameters are stable.

Any ideas

If these are new clowns. It’s very common for clowns to have weird behavior first few weeks in a tank

They are not they’ve been in there for 6+months. Like I mentioned that one usually hangs out in that corner. It’s just seeming very skittish all the sudden. It has since calmed down a little and is swimming from corner to corner lol. I’m thinking there may have been some aggression going on over night.

Temp, salt, ammonia within parameters? Mine did something similar on day 1 of introducing but after a day they did calm down a lot

Yea everything is with in range, same as they always are. My tank is pretty stable for the most part. Temp-78 PH-8.2 Salinity 35 No ammonia Nitrates-15 Alk-8.9 Calls-420 Mag-1320 Phos-.08

Seems all very good, then its all just a big guess! Mine got stressed out because of my cat putting its face on top but there used to it now….. hope they calm down soon🙏🏻

They do like something to hide under or something like that

Yeah I have plenty of over hangs, holes, and a BTA they can go in. It’s only the black and orange one the other one goes everywhere

Hope they cool down asap! Good luck🙌

Thx

Kinda similar to the behaviour on my male clown he’s an oddball but I always thought it’s cause he was always a tad bit… different around his fins

After watching for a while it turns out to be aggression between the two. They have been together for 6+ months and I’m thinking the snowflake is finally changing into the female.

Yeah mine had a slow physical transition for some reason but a quick behavioural it could have been because my male was still juvenile or something similar. Anyway if you ask me clownfish are odd creatures and they decide to do what ever is gonna be the most stupid/aggravating thing. Like my female had me worried for weeks about ich but no it was sand cause she decided she wanted to be a Coris wrasse and build a sand dune

Hahahaha that would have freaked me out as well

Oh yeah and the worst part was ever morning I’d wake up and there would be a new grain for about 10 days and then it sloughed off and never came back and on top of that just this week my male has done a similar thing where he doesn’t (or does can’t tell) love my chalice and keeps knocking it over so Ive had to look into a seperate tank just to keep my chalice away from him.

Also decided to do it right next to my cynarinas and I still haven’t gotten all the sand off them bloody rascals
