Ugh that rust on hardware near the tank is the absolute worst! It always feels like just a little corrosion, but then you realize that metal ions leaching into your water can wreck your alk and stress corals big time. I learned the hard way to double check every piece labeled stainless because cheap hinges or screws can totally ruin your water chemistry. Especially in a smaller setup like yours where there isn’t much volume to buffer any contamination. What brand did you buy those from? I’m super picky now about anything that can even remotely drip into the tank. Definitely not worth

I probably lost a good 50% of my Coral and all my larger fish

There was some Amazon brand. They were labeled as 316 stainless steel all the way through. That obviously wasn't true so I ended up just ordering some pteg and I printed my own hinges
