Anyone with the AI Blade light, what settings do you use for your corals? I’ve had mine on the Hello Reef template that was recommended with the program, but I’m noticing some browning on the trumpet coral stem and now some area on the favia coral. Did some research and reading that might need more blue lighting.

Hey I’m running an AI Blade on my nano too and noticed something similar with my LPS when I first set it up. I did end up bumping up the blue channels a bit higher than the Hello Reef preset and kept the whites pretty low. My Favia and Candy Cane both seemed to color up more after a couple weeks
Awesome thank you! I’m giving that a try now and hoping it helps, and increasing feeding them a little bit. I was doing 1-2 times a week a mix of both mysis and coral food
Its not necessarily blues but PAR overall. Its likely too low for them. If you can test for PAR it should read 80-150
Any recommendations for brand of tester for Par? That’s one thing I don’t have yet that I’ll have to get
I would see if you can rent or get one from someone who is willing to share. The apogee is the most reliable but it costs 400+. The rest are still pricey and potentially innaccurate anyways. What % are you running your blades at?
Oh wow I didn’t realize how expensive they were. The Hello Reef setting the percentages were pretty low, but I switched it to one of the Coral Grow templates and the blues are at 105 and white 50 at the midday peak
That should be plenty! Now just watch for improvement in colors, should take about a month from my experience, if they start turning white then you have too much light lol
Has this gotten any better?
Yep!! My trumpet has bounced back and all my corals are doing amazing! I’ve also made some changes to dosing too so a combo of both has definitely helped!
Nice!
