๐๐ Happy World Reef Day! ๐ชธ
Every coral in my reef tank started as a tiny fragment of a living reef somewhere in the world. Today, this aquarium is home to more than 100 different corals, fish, starfish, sea urchins, hermit crabs, shrimp, and countless other reef inhabitants.
Coral reefs cover less than 1% of the ocean floor, yet they support nearly 25% of all marine life. They protect coastlines, provide food and livelihoods for millions of people, and create some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth.

As reefs face threats from warming oceans, pollution, and habitat loss, reef aquariums can play an important role in conservation. Many corals are now propagated in captivity, preserving genetic diversity and reducing pressure on wild reefs. In a way, aquariums like this become living time capsules, safeguarding species and inspiring future generations to care about our oceans.
The future of coral reefs depends on all of us. Support sustainable practices, reduce pollution, and help protect these incredible underwater worlds before theyโre gone.
