I HAVE FIXED MY PARAMETERS ISSUES, i got it checked at my LFS today and it was… not great to say the least, so i did a massive water change and checked it with the new gear i bought and i fixed atleast what i could check

PH: 8.0

Salinity: 1.025

nirate: 0

thats all the parameters i checked so far because everything else was either untestable at home at the moment for was good enough

i should be able to actually start having some animals in the tank soon

probably next sunday i will buy some hermit crabs and emerald crabs, but im not sure

Totally new to this, so a little confused: I came home after three days and my water level was down. I checked salinity and it had increased to 38 (from 35), so I added 2/3 gallon (3L) of RODI and the salinity didn't go down! What did I do wrong?

Question, I’m a beginner and don’t have a RO/DI machine yet. What should I top off my saltwater aquarium with water that has evaporated? Treated water where I add some drops of water conditioner or distilled water?

My 20 gallon salt water tank that I just set up about a week ago has a salinity of 1.010 right now, how much water would you recommend to change out to get a reading of 1.020 salinity? I only have a fire shrimp in the tank and two bleu legged hermits.

Tested water parm today, did a water change yesterday. My salinity is 1.017… how can I raise that up? I don’t have any salt to mix.

On the other hand, my bubble tip is gaining color back!! You can see the green coming back. My Duncan is doing good. I added 2 new corals, Rasta Zoas and a Kenya tree. My mushrooms have been reproducing like crazy but all my corals except my gsp look to be doing just fine. My gsp hasn’t fully opened in a couple days, I’m assuming that’s because my salinity is low.

I have a couple types of algae coming back, brown/tan algae on the sand bed and my glass, then that green hair algae looking stuff is coming back too.

All fish seem to be doing fine.

Hey all. 15G nano and I can’t keep mangroves alive. I tried three different suppliers (seedlings and ones with leaves). I’m putting it in my built-in backflow with light for 12 hours. After a few days, they get squishy and then dry up. What am I doing wrong?

Temp: 78

Nitrates: 10-15

Phosphate: .05

Salinity: 1.025

pH: 7.9

Thanks!

I F0<43D up BIG time!!!!! First time in my reefing journey I want to cry 😭 I’m usually super careful with my water changes. Test refill water and tank before and test tank after. I woke up early this morning and tried to do a water change before work. Suggestion: NEVER DO THAT 😭 I would have sworn up and down that my salt container was mixed and ready to go two days ago. I have NO IDEA what happened or if I’m just losing my mind. I just did a 20% change with RODI 🫠🫠 then. I panicked. Added dry salt to the tank. Because ya know… you can’t make one mistake. Have to compound them. My initial change dropped 1.025 to 1.020. Added about 5 cups of salt to my display 😭 then realized I’m an idiot and added two more to the filter sock.
