Been dealing with Cyano since February. I’ve had Chemiclean to use but have been exhausting all other natural methods before I use it. I must say, I’m really impressed with Tropic Marin Cyo Control. I completed the final dose today (which is why the water is a little cloudy temporarily) and it has reduced the Cyano by 75% so far. Paired with some maintenance changes, removing the Cyano before each of the 3 doses, it’s really impressive how things are clearing up. Even the back wall almost completely cleared up after the first dose. 💪🏻💪🏻

Going on a little over a month and just got out of the uglies. Had a bunch of diatoms and maybe the smallest amount of cyano. Used my other two set ups to jump start this system and it seemed to work. Nutrients have been stable along with all other parameters and I have to say this tank loves to eat magnesium lol. All the lps seem to be loving this system for sure… thanks for looking and happy reefing my friends.

Has anyone had any success with this? I’ve been battling cyano off and on since February, made changes to flow, reduced coral feeding frequency, stabilized nitrates, etc and I’m still battling it. I have Chemicleqn but been afraid to use it and was holding out as a last resort. I’m planning on trying it this weekend then I saw this when I was getting some other supplies.

Fighting another bout of Cyano, not as bad as the first one few weeks ago but still frustrated it came back. This round I’m adding a protein skimmer this week and also starting to question upgrading my wavemaker. I seem to be getting some dead spots despite changing the wavemaker positions so not sure if I need something stronger? I have a 1500gph Hygger DC, and considering upgrading to an AI Nero 3, which is what I initially wanted but hesitated bc of price. Any thoughts?

Caught my clown cleaning his corner today. He was doing it more till he saw me recording and got embarrassed lol.

Please excuse the dirty tank! Went on vacation and came back to a huge cyano boom, it’s gotten way better over the past few days.

Thinking I have an outbreak of cyano. I have a reddish brown algae covering the sand, and I’m having to scrape the glass multiple times a day and it’s making the water cloudy. Any recommendations? Not sure if this related, but I had bottomed out nitrates few weeks ago. I increased my feedings to twice a day, but this cyano seems to have gotten worse. I’ve been dosing NeoNitro and got my nitrates to 4 so I’m happy with that. Nothing appearing stressed. I’ve stopped dosing coral animos daily, and temporarily stopping feeding the corals incase this is fueled from a nutrient overload. My parameters have been decent other than my low nitrates. I’ve added more snails over the weekend too. Trying to combat this as naturally as possible.
