started with fresh water in 1994 and started my first salt tank in 1999. took a break in 2020 but fired back up with a 30 gallon nano July of 2024. this is my first reef setup with corals being the main focus . It hasn’t been a fun ride lol but it’s slowly coming together.

Going on a little over a month and just got out of the uglies. Had a bunch of diatoms and maybe the smallest amount of cyano. Used my other two set ups to jump start this system and it seemed to work. Nutrients have been stable along with all other parameters and I have to say this tank loves to eat magnesium lol. All the lps seem to be loving this system for sure… thanks for looking and happy reefing my friends.

After fighting the good fight with GHA in a overstocked tank I decided to set up another tank to split the load. This tank is now a softy tank with a few Duncan colonies. I will be starting some mushroom colonies to give me a little more color diversity. I moved all my SPS and LPS to a 20 gallon JBJ all in one system. I’m still a little heavy on the bio load but nothing like before so it should be much more manageable.

How often is everyone else testing? I test every Sunday morning before my lights go on. I also do a 10 %water change religiously every Sunday. These numbers are tropic Marin pro reef salt with 7 ml of soda ash mixed with 4 gallons of water for my weekly water change to bring my alk up to around 9. I also dose 2.5 ml twice a week of potassium and 3ml daily of all for reef.
