Rookie mistake. I bought this Duncan not long after setting up the tank because I heard they were "easy".
Those 2 bleached branches were there when I bought it. Stupidly, I superglued it to the main rock before I realised it should have sat lower in the tank. Until now, it only extended it's polyps when the lights were off at night (normal) and before the lights were on in the morning in ambient light.
Finally, I think it has adapted to the light conditions and starting to enjoy life.
The Duncan is not a fan of the light, but it sure likes it when the lights are off.

SPS are not my thing. They scare me. But I bought this local Glitter Green Leptoseris without understanding it wouldn't likely enjoy a ULNS. But despite all that, this hobby always proves that the stereotype is not always a fait acompli and if you are disciplined with parameters and stability, nature finds a way.
It's encrusted over the frag, and now onto the adjoining rock.
Sunday funday in the reef !
Light just coming on to wake up the misfits
Spooked! First time he noticed the natural sunlight in the evening. Didn’t know they could change their colors so much. Almost looks like he was trying to mimic the shimmer of the leds or purple coral.
dirst try on sps goin good:)
Couple new hammers today. They were pretty pissed about the move , but they’re opening up now. We’ll see how they looking tomorrow.
Seen a pink and green plate coral today at the LFS, I had to have it. I’ve been watching it acclimate for like 1hr straight and been ignoring the GFs calls 😂
Carpet nems are the whole reason I got in this hobby. Hoping the tank is finally mature enough for them. Love their color changes😍
Since I have been doing a lot light adjustment and really messing with my flow, this guy has become quite active, plus he did get some reef roids 😂 but he really has been quite fascinating to watch. Don’t mind the background noise
New Acro getting polypy as the lights go down
New Acros! These have been in the tank acclimating for a week now. Looking happy so soon I’ll transfer to the aquascape.
