Rookie mistake. I bought this Duncan not long after setting up the tank because I heard they were "easy".
Those 2 bleached branches were there when I bought it. Stupidly, I superglued it to the main rock before I realised it should have sat lower in the tank. Until now, it only extended it's polyps when the lights were off at night (normal) and before the lights were on in the morning in ambient light.
Finally, I think it has adapted to the light conditions and starting to enjoy life.
Update on the Duncan and the shrimp starts to come out more during feeding
Duncan opening
Morning breeze ☕️🌊 Polyps fully out.

Light just coming on to wake up the misfits
Gettin polypy 🌊
The Nemo tank has been looking mighty puffy since I started dosing some extra trace elements weekly.
Lights come on, fish start moving, corals open up… best part of the day.
Just me, the tank, and my coffee.
My crazy Duncans sure do love flow
Had this neon green umbrella leather for 6+ years. Last year was rough because my emperor angelfish used it as a snack 🐠Fish is gone, coral is happy again, and it’s clearly showing.
