Description
The Blue-spotted blenny is a small, bottom-perching marine fish valued for its bright blue spotting, curious personality, and algae-grazing behavior. It spends much of its time perched on rockwork and darting between crevices.
Reef Safe
Yes
Environment
Requires a stable marine aquarium with plenty of live rock, hiding places, mature algae growth, good water quality, and secure cover to prevent jumping. Typical reef conditions with temperatures around 72-78 F, pH 8.1-8.4, and salinity 1.023-1.025 are suitable.
Behavior
Active and observant, often perches on rocks and substrate while grazing algae. May defend its favorite hiding spots from similar-shaped fish or other blennies.
