Description
A slow-moving, snake-like reef fish with a long slender body, tubular snout and a small pink tail fin, patterned in cream with variable black, pink and yellow markings unique to each individual. It is entirely peaceful and safe with corals and ornamental invertebrates, spending most of its time slithering over live rock and sandbeds hunting tiny prey. Success depends on a mature, well-established reef with a heavy live copepod and amphipod population, low flow, and no fast or competitive feeders such as wrasses or dottybacks to steal food.
