Description
The Majestic Angelfish, also known as the Blue Girdled Angelfish, is a large and colorful saltwater fish that is native to the Indo-Pacific region. It is known for its striking appearance, with a bright yellow body, blue face, and dark, vertical bars on its sides. This fish is a popular choice for larger aquariums due to its vibrant colors and dynamic personality.
Reef Safe
The Majestic Angelfish is not considered reef safe. It tends to nip at stony and soft corals (sessile invertebrates) and clam mantles.
Environment
The Majestic Angelfish requires a large tank with plenty of hiding spots and swimming space. It prefers a well-decorated aquarium with lots of live rock for grazing. This fish is sensitive to water quality and requires good filtration and regular water changes.
Behavior
The Majestic Angelfish is a semi-aggressive fish. It tends to be territorial and may become aggressive towards other fish, especially those of its own species. This fish is also known to be a bit shy, especially when first introduced to a new environment.
