Description
The Painted Frogfish is a highly camouflaged ambush predator with a stocky body, warty skin, and the ability to change color to blend with its surroundings. It uses a lure-like appendage above its mouth to attract prey and can swallow fish nearly its own size.

No
Environment
Stable marine water conditions with excellent filtration, low to moderate flow, abundant rockwork or perches, and a covered tank. Typical tropical saltwater parameters are recommended, with temperature around 72-78F, salinity 1.023-1.025, and low nitrate levels.
Behavior
Sedentary and secretive, often perching motionless and relying on camouflage. It is an ambush hunter and may eat any tankmate small enough to fit in its mouth.
