Description
The Papuan Epaulette Shark is a small, bottom-dwelling shark known for its distinctive black spot behind the pectoral fins, resembling an epaulette. It is native to the shallow, tropical waters of the Indo-West Pacific, particularly around Papua New Guinea and northern Australia. This shark is notable for its ability to 'walk' along the sea floor using its pectoral fins, an adaptation that allows it to navigate tidal pools and coral reefs.
