Description
A striking rabbitfish with a pale blue-to-greenish body overlaid with fine yellow-and-blue 'scribbled' lines on the head and forebody, two dark bars (one through the eye, one behind the gills), and yellow rear body and fins. It is a peaceful, tireless grazer that helps control filamentous and macro algae, though it may nip LPS, zoanthids and soft corals if underfed, and it can be territorial toward other rabbitfish or similar grazers. Give it a large tank with open swimming room plus rockwork caves for sheltering, keep it well fed with dried algae, and handle it carefully, the dorsal, anal and pelvic spines are venomous.

This species prefers a well-lit tank with plenty of hiding spots. They need a lot of swimming space, so a larger tank is necessary. Live rock formations are also beneficial as they provide grazing opportunities and hiding places.
Behavior
The Scribbled Rabbitfish is generally peaceful but can be territorial with other Rabbitfish. It is recommended to keep only one Rabbitfish per tank unless the tank is large enough to establish territories. This fish is nocturnal and will often hide during the day.

It grew too fast and fish became too big for the tank very quickly. Was a cool guy.

Great fish for eating algae when you’re in the “ugly brown” phase of tanks. I know my tank is too small for him but already working on upgrading to a 90 in the near future. Keep an eye on this fish though, they’ll nip at corals if he isn’t fed.
