Description
The Extreme Snow Onyx is a captive-bred designer clownfish showing heavy, irregular white snowflake blotching over a jet-black body with orange face and fins, with the black pigment deepening and the white patterning expanding as the fish matures. Hardy and readily accepting prepared foods, it is a bold, semi-aggressive damsel that will defend a small territory or host anemone but generally coexists with peaceful reef fish. Keep singly or as a bonded pair in a mature tank of 20 gallons or more with a tight lid; a host anemone is not required, though bubble-tip anemones, hosting corals, or even a powerhead corner are often adopted.
Reef Safe
Yes
Environment
These fish prefer a tank with plenty of hiding spots and a moderate current. They do well in both fish-only and reef aquarium setups.
Behavior
Snow Onyx Clownfish are known for their symbiotic relationship with anemones in the wild. In an aquarium setting, they may establish a similar bond with certain corals or other invertebrates. They are generally peaceful but can become territorial, especially if they form a mated pair.
