Environment
Requires excellent water quality, strong filtration, open swimming space, and stable salinity. Juveniles do well in brackish conditions, while adults thrive in marine or high-end brackish water. Typical marine temperatures of 72-82 F and pH around 8.0-8.4 are suitable.
Behavior
Active, fast-swimming schooling fish that does best in groups. It can become stressed if kept singly and may chase weaker tankmates in cramped conditions.
