Description
A brilliant emerald-green wrasse with magenta-pink facial and pectoral fin markings and a yellow crescent-shaped lyretail that gives the species its name. It is a fast, constantly swimming, boldly aggressive fish that will harass smaller or slower tankmates and prey on ornamental shrimp, small crabs and snails, so it belongs in a large fish-only or robust FOWLR system with heavy rockwork and should be added last. Needs a long tank of at least 100-125 gallons, plenty of open swimming room, and a tightly fitting lid since it is a determined jumper.

Moon Wrasses prefer a tank with plenty of open swimming space. They also appreciate a tank with numerous hiding places, such as live rock, to retreat to when they feel threatened.
Behavior
Moon Wrasses are active swimmers and are known to be jumpers. They are also known to be quite curious and will often investigate their surroundings. However, they can be aggressive towards smaller, more passive fish.

The absolute nastiest fish I’ve had could not have any fish pair with it without it being brutal to it. It’s eaten damsels whole. Would never buy again even if I had 2 million gallons.
