My 20 gallon salt water tank that I just set up about a week ago has a salinity of 1.010 right now, how much water would you recommend to change out to get a reading of 1.020 salinity? I only have a fire shrimp in the tank and two bleu legged hermits.

How I raised My salinity I took all my tank inhabitants out and just added some salt and checked it with my salinity checker lol

I do not have an extra tank to place my inverts and donโ€™t want to stress them out. How can I do it while they are in the tank, just do like a 10% water change?

Now Iโ€™m at 1.025

I check it every morning

I would just let your water evaporate over time. And top off with saltwater until you get to 1.02

I will try this thank you

This is the way

Best way. Allows inhabitants to slowly acclimate to new salinity as you raise slowly.

Your salinity should be between 1.024 and 1.026 or 32 to 35 ppt. If you need to raise your salinity they have calculators online where you input your numbers and itโ€™ll guide you. If youโ€™re willing to approach a reef tank salinity you should grab a good amount of your saltwater and and salt to that in a different cup or jar thatโ€™s big enough for you to stir in some fish tank salt water. Go slowly with the salt until you reach 1.026
