So I’m trying to find a quality pump/wave maker to create flow in my 55 gallon mixed reef and there is a lot of mixed information online. Could anyone give me some pointers or suggestions on what to look for in style and/or how many gph. Any tips would be appreciated.

Just depends on your budget. For your size tank If going with Nero, go with Nero 5. I’ve also use Jebao before They run good but the best I’ve ever had was Vortech. Pretty much anything will work

Thank you! Also, how many gph should I look for? I would prefer the higher end of the power spectrum but I don’t know to figure up gph

I’ve seen a lot of reviews on the Nero 3 by Aqua Illumination. The one that does 2000gph is made for tanks between 5-60 gallons and is fully adjustable for your specific tank setup as well as it can be controlled on the app for quick changes. I’m currently running a Fluval Sea made for a 15 gallon and it’s good but not controllable as well as it sticks out further than I’d like but it’s a temporary powerhead. The Nero 3 is a lot more flat to the glass and magnetic I believe.
