Do y’all know what is this brown hair looking algae in my rocks? It’s a bit hard to see, but if you zoom in you can see these brown strands that look like hair , are these hair algae?? They have been annoying some of my coral so what I have been doing is cleaning them with a toothbrush and then siphoning em out, I also have some cuc but they are really eating it. So what is it?

Are you using RO water ? Is the tank new ? Are you using any white lighting ?

Hard to say from these pictures but possibly. Few notes. Soak your toothbrush in hydrogen peroxide and scrub. They disovle and don't come back. Suggest doing 1 rock a week since this kills some nitrifying bacteria too. Pick up some copepods from algeabarn. Recommend galaxy jar is 5 speices. Eco is 4 etc. Take out your floss/socks for days so they can get established. Turn skimmer to lower water level so you make o2 but not any foam to collection cup. Also few days. Consider adding to your microbiome. Pns is getting rave reviews. Im doing deepcycle to avoid the ugly stage but don't yet know how well it works for me.
