Mines do it often when the lights turn blue and go off i guess they picked their resting spot
My clowns sleep on their side at the water surface at night. Usually next to the return pump cuz it’s the corner and doesn’t get any aggressive flow.
It is normal, once you get coral in there and learn to host them, then they will sleep on or between your corals
I've had a Picasso clownfish for about a month now. And he roams the tank wonderfully all day long, eats great, and every night goes to the back upper corner of the tank for a safe place to spend the night, and I'm told that's completely normal.

Not per se but clowns are goofy. Other tank mates fine? Ph and alkalinity are up? Ie o2 is in the water? If not id increase exchange.
Yeah all levels are stable. I think he was just being goofy.
