Cleared a spot in my office for my phyto culture kit. Should have the kit and the culture by Friday. I bought it from Reef by Steele. He’s sending the kit by ground and the culture by overnight UPS. How many more days you got to go?

Hi.. that's great to hear. Hope yours goes just as well. My phytoplankton looks like it needs a couple of more days before I dose it to my display tank. But my copepods looks like it's going to take longer to dose. I just did a small research and read that Copepods can take 2 to 4 weeks til they mature. I see a lot of dancing in there. But they don't look big enough yet. And the water is still light green. I might go to my local LFS and buy more Copepods to help with population.

I’ve read that the lighter the water gets the better you pods are doing since their eating your phyto.

Yea.. I've read that to... But mines taken a while.. I mean it's only been 5 days. I also read that I have to be careful not to add to much Phytoplankton because it can also crash the copepods system. I haven't added any since I started just what's in there now.

Have to got a plan for the amount your going to dose your tank? Daily, every other day? How many corals do you have? Something needs to eat it or you’ll be growing algae. I’m currently dosing 30ml for my 110 gallons. And my tank is well stocked.

Yes.. the plan is to dose 6 ounces of phytoplankton a day. I have a 125 gallon tank with about 10 corals and high nitrates. The weekly amount should add up to 32 ounces a week. For the copepods... I wanted to add 32 ounces of what ever I can get from the culture to my display tank and 32 ounces to the refugium. The other 32 ounces I wanted to use to keep the culture going.

Beautiful...πŸ˜€πŸ˜€

Thanks. I’ve decided to thin some corals after seeing what’s gonna grow fast or slow. Funny thing is I’m not sure I want everything that’s grows fast.
