For those that didn’t know. A Desjardini Tang can change from black to white color in seconds.
I had no idea when I bought this first. Mine mainly stays black but will flash this white color every once and awhile. I’m not sure if it’s due to stress. It seems pretty random to me. It will also stay more white when the lights are out.

It could also be a defense mechanism due to the powder blue being close by....tangs have a huge diet lol better feed him nori Pronto lol

I agree fin is up and powder is trying to show dominance had a powder for awhile mine was very very aggressive

Yeah my powder blue is an A hole too unfortunately. Long term I probably will need to re house one of them.

Very much a hole chase every fish around relentlessly don't know if it was too small tank size probably but everybody in tank got it ick/ velvet in tank clown and reef Beauty died powder blue survived the powder blue will go white too when stressed or sick

Then decided to get to damsels and started over again with ick and velvet this time everybody died. Iin process of getting new fish after 81 days

So probably stress. I guess good I don’t see it often but I’ll keep an eye on it more now. He was doing it in this pic I think cuz I haven’t given him nori in 24h.
