Wow..π³π³ππ Day 3. 8:30am. I open my pantry to see how things are going. The phytoplankton is really getting greener. I'm a little concerned with the Copepods jar. There are lots of them dancing in there. But the jar still looks lite green. Well...Let's keep going. Four more days..π

That green color is looking awesome already! Phyto cultures can be tricky but it sounds like youβre on the right track and your copepods are definitely happy in there.
Yo that phyto is poppin green!
I am going to start a phyto culture soon. Is that in the fridge?
Hi.. No not in the fridge. I'm growing this 96 ounce jar in my pantry. When the 7 days are up and the phytoplankton is ready. Then I'll put 64 ounces to use and 32 ounces will start the following week culture..π I recommend you try. If you need it in your Tank. Saves lots of $$.
Awesome thanks! I am culturing copepods so it will definitely save me money!
Very cool brother. Iβm probably spent 50% of my day today researching different types of cultures, different types of culture kits, different species of phyto and trying to decide whether I want to do just phyto or cope pods also.
That's great.. I did the same thing your doing. Then I decided to take the risk. 3 days in so far so good. I got must of my supplies from Amazon. Just trying to save some money. π
Iβve just been digging into the culture strain of what type of phyto fights diatoms, and is beneficial for the copepods in my tank. Unfortunately, not every strain you have the same success as another strain. In fact, some strains do nothing for your system. Itβs a lot to know. This Secchi stick helps determine if your culture is at its optimum strength.
Cool...ππ
