iv recently bought a redsea max 500 and looking for some help/tips.
This is going to be my first marine tank (coming over from tropical)
So, what return pump would you all recommend?
How many lights should i have/ what lights should i get.

That’s a great tank. I have a Hydor pump with variable return speed that has worked great for 3+ years. Is your sump all plumped? Did you buy this used or new? For a tank 60” wide I’d recommend three AI Prime 16 HD lights or two AI Hydra 32 HD. There are cheaper lights that others may be able to recommend. I’ve only used AI lights and they are great.

what size hydor pump would you recommend? i bought the tank used, cleaned it all up. it was used for tropical. I still have to plumb it all as the sump isn’t in the stand yet due to still needing to level it off. I’ll have a look at them lights. i’m looking at having them suspended over the tank. thank you!
