Im really struggling with wavemaker placement hoping for some advice. I have a 20 gallon waterbox currently with two nero 3 wavemakers on opposite sides of the tank off set from one another. I have a pretty decent sized rock structure. Is two wavemakers too much flow for a 20 gallon tank? I just plan on having an LPS tank with 2 clownfish. Thanks in advance friends!😊

Nero 3s are awesome pumps, not sure if you are aware, but they are adjustable for higher flow...you really want the water at the top of the tank to have more flow so oxygen can cycle through...the pump on the far side seems like it's too low in the water column...maybe move it a little higher up and try adjusting the flow rates in the AI app...And no 2 pumps are not too strong for a 20 gallon tank...
At the lowest setting the app is reading about 600gph per pump. I do have the return pump facing the surface for agitation. I’ll raise the left one up more. I placed it that low to have flow over the top rock but you’re right it might be too low
I have a nero 3 in my 40 breeder and run it at 75% most of the day and it really makes good flow...just play with the settings and see if you can get them to push more flow at the top...doing so will get your evaporated water up to where jt should be
I’ve never had a Nero 3. But don’t think you need more than one wave maker in a 20g.

Idk if you need two for this size tank. Try adjusting flow for having just one. I don’t have any in my nano. I just upgraded the return pump and it’s enough
What size tank do you have? I have a sicce silent return pump but I have it at the lowest setting to let the water sit in filtration state longer. I also have the return nozzle facing up for surface agitation so it really doesn’t put much flow onto the rock structure
I have an IM 15 gal. Ahh I see. My pump has a dual RFG nozzle on it so one side points up and other towards middle of water column. I always hear bad reviews about numerous Powerheads on the market being bad or not lasting over few months so I’ve been hesitant.
