Description
Allard's clownfish is a robust, striking anemonefish from the western Indian Ocean, typically dark brown to black with two white vertical bars and yellow to orange coloration on the tail, pelvic, and anal fins. It naturally associates with sea anemones and is a hardy but sometimes territorial species suited to established marine aquariums.
Reef Safe
Yes
Environment
Requires a stable saltwater aquarium with temperature around 72-82 F, pH 8.1-8.4, specific gravity 1.020-1.026, and good filtration and water quality. Provide rockwork for shelter and open swimming space; a host anemone is optional but appreciated in a mature, suitable system.
Behavior
Active and bold, often stays near a host anemone or chosen territory. Can be kept singly or as a bonded pair and may become more territorial as it matures, especially around its host or nesting site.
