Description
The Axolotl, often mistaken as a fish, is actually a type of salamander that is native to the lakes of Xochimilco, Mexico. Known for its unique ability to regenerate limbs and its distinct appearance with feathery external gills, the Axolotl is a fascinating creature that remains in its larval stage throughout its life, a condition known as neoteny.

Axolotls require cool, clean, and well-oxygenated water. They thrive in temperatures ranging from 60 to 64 degrees Fahrenheit and need a tank with a soft substrate to prevent injury to their delicate skin.
Behavior
Axolotls are generally solitary creatures and prefer to be left alone. They are not very active and spend most of their time at the bottom of their tank.
