Description
A slender, elongate fang blenny with a silvery-white to pale body overlaid with fine dark speckling and a dark stripe through the eye, plus dusky trailing edges on the dorsal and forked caudal fin. Like other Meiacanthus, it hovers and swims in open water above the rockwork by day and wedges into crevices at night, and its venomous canines make it largely immune to predation, so it can be kept safely with most community fish. Peaceful toward unrelated tankmates but territorial toward other fang blennies and similar-shaped fish; provide a mature reef with plenty of rock caves, moderate flow, and a tight-fitting lid, and feed small meaty foods twice daily.

This fish prefers a tank with plenty of hiding spots and live rock for grazing. It thrives in a temperature range of 72-78°F and a pH level of 8.1-8.4.
Behavior
The Kamohara Blenny is a peaceful fish that is often found hiding in crevices and rocks during the day. It is known for its unique behavior of "playing dead" when threatened, lying motionless on its side until the threat has passed.

I love this fish. He’s always actively swimming. No other fish seems concerned with him including other blennies. He is also completely unconcerned with any other fish. I’d recommend this fish for any community tank. It’s been one of the easiest and most enjoyable choices I’ve made.

Extremely active swimmer during the day, always in the upper and mid water column, but sleeps in the rockwork at night. Actively takes food off the surface of the water and pretty much ignores everyone else in the tank. Unique black and white color pattern which provides nice contrast. Very peaceful and readily eats whatever food is offered. Similar care to other fang blennies, but tends to have a little less attitude. SUPER JUMPY; have had to rescue him from the sump before. Pros: Very active, peaceful Cons: Doesn’t have the typical “Blenny” personality, very jumpy Availability: Hard to find
