Description
A slender, elongate dartfish with a pale bluish-white body crossed by fine yellow and blue longitudinal lines and a tall, flag-like dorsal fin it flicks when displaying. Peaceful and deepwater-collected, it hovers just above the substrate and darts into a burrow or rockwork when startled, so it needs open sand, plenty of rock refuges, and calm tankmates rather than boisterous ones. Keep singly or in a small group in a mature, quiet system; it is fully reef safe and harmless to corals and inverts, but it is a determined jumper that requires a tight-fitting lid or screen top.

Requires a well-established saltwater aquarium with stable water quality, plenty of rockwork and hiding places, open swimming space, moderate flow, and a tightly fitted lid to prevent jumping.
Behavior
Peaceful and somewhat timid; spends much of its time hovering in the water column near a retreat site and will dart into hiding when startled. Known to jump if frightened.
