Temperament
Description
A slender fang blenny with a golden-yellow head fading to a pale silvery-white body crossed by three to four bold black horizontal stripes that break into dots near the tail. It hovers and darts in the open water column rather than perching, is hardy and disease-resistant, and readily takes prepared foods, though its high metabolism calls for small feedings 2-3 times daily. Give it 30 gallons or more with plenty of rockwork, caves and ledges; keep only one per tank (or a bonded pair) as males squabble with conspecifics, and use a tight-fitting lid since it is an agile swimmer that can jump.
Reef Safe
Yes
Environment
Striped Blennies prefer a well-decorated aquarium with plenty of hiding spots. They appreciate a tank with a lot of live rock for hiding and hunting. They can adapt to a variety of saltwater conditions but do best in stable, well-maintained tanks.
Behavior
Striped Blennies are generally peaceful and tend to be quite shy. They are known for their interesting behavior of "hopping" along the substrate in the tank. They also have a unique defense mechanism, a venomous bite, which they use only for self-defense.

Amazing fish. Loves to swim and sometimes pick at rocks. I See him swimming around a lot but if spooked will hide. Beautiful corals. Does have a venomous bite.

This is one of my favorite fish, they have such great color and it’s always out swimming around but not aggressive to its tank mates.
