Description
A small, secretive Caribbean reef fish with a creamy-yellow body striped lengthwise in red-brown to maroon bands and dark ocelli on the tail and dorsal fin. Peaceful but shy, it spends much of its time darting among caves and overhangs, so provide abundant rockwork with deep crevices and dim, low-traffic areas; it will emerge more readily in a mature tank with calm tankmates. Fully reef safe, but it will hunt very small shrimp, mysids and tiny fish, and it is a capable jumper that requires a tight-fitting lid.

Requires stable saltwater conditions, excellent water quality, moderate water movement, and plenty of live rock with caves and overhangs for shelter. Best kept in a well-established reef aquarium.
Behavior
Generally secretive and spends much of its time near caves and crevices in live rock. It may become more visible once acclimated and typically does well when kept singly.
