Fish in cycle because Iβll get some fish friday
Ye
If you do fish in cycle make sure to also buy some seachem prime in case you have an ammonia spike, prime detoxifies ammonia making it safe for your fish, I would add the recommended dosage 1x everyday until your tank cycles
Ok
So it is just secem prime conditioner?
Correct
Same tank and similar aquascape to mine π
Yo thatβs crazy

How long did you cycle? Looks super fresh to me.
Just today but, I added turbo start I wonβt add anything if it isnβt cycled yet
Iβll check parameters tomorrow
And saltilty
make sure you use calibration fluid with a refractometer. something i had been doing wrong for a long time.
I do have it made sure to I just have to figure out how to calibrate, probably just watch a video
it should have come with a little screwdriver. the little black plastic thing above the test plate pops off to see the screw. turn slowly while looking through the viewer and adjust to the correct value with the sample on the plate.
what ammonia source are you using to feed the bacteria? They take at least a few weeks to colonize rocks and media. I recommend dr tims ammonia chloride.
I am not using any thing just put a bottle of turbo start in (900 treats 25gal)
Is that wrong?
Well the bacteria need a source of ammonia to colonize. without it, they have no food to reproduce. if you got a piece if frozen shrimp, people say that works. you can also toss in powderized fish food to try and feed them. if you fish in cycle, the fish generate the ammonia that feeds the bacteria, but that can potentially stress the fish if levels become unhealthy. Get a seachem ammonia badge if thats your plan.
When should I start feeding them
what is your plan? fishless or fish in cycle?
