First Tank

Started my very first tank this year (february '26). It has always been a dream to be able to join the saltwater hobby and after years of doubt I decided to go for it this year. The tank is far from mature after only running for about 7 months. The dry reef rock was leaking a lot and was a algea party for a long time. The tank is still pest free (that was the goal of the dryrock). I boosted the cycle with a litre of sand from a mature system which introduced copepods. This is a zero water change project. -Tank: 100x40x40cm (160l/≈42g)

-Sand: 10kg

-Salt: 10kg

-Reef rock: 4,4kg

-Bacteria starter

-reverse osmosis filter

Hi this is my first salt water tank; it is 4 1/2 months old.

Hello all, I am brand new to the hobby. This is my very first reef tank. It is a TMC First wave 48L (UK measurement) in the past, I had cold water and tropical fish.

I started this tank on Jully 11th 2026. I'm thinking of getting some black pvc sheeting for the back of the tank, which I will put on the outside.
